A U.S. Army lieutenant colonel has resigned and forfeited his coming pension in protest of what he calls the “Marxist” vaccine mandate the Biden administration has placed on the military.

“First, and foremost, I am incapable of subjecting myself to the unlawful, unethical, immoral and tyrannical order to sit still and allow a serum to be injected into my flesh against my will and better judgment,” Lieutenant Colonel Paul Hague stated in his letter of resignation submitted last month.

Hague’s spouse, Katie Hague, posted the letter of resignation to Twitter. In the letter, Hague stated that he lacked confidence in President Biden’s ability to lead. He also stated concerns over the “ideologically Marxist takeover of the United States government at their upper echelons.”

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention maintains that the COVID-19 vaccines are trustworthy and effective, a point Hague did not argue against., according to his wife. Instead, she said her husband ultimately resigned due, in his opinion, to the fact that the vaccine was being used as a political tool to segregate and divide Americans.

“I instead will join those who have served before me in pledging my Life, my Fortune, and my Sacred Honor to continue resisting the eternal and ever-mutable forms of oppression and tyranny — both from enemies outside our nation’s borders, and those within,” he wrote.
